Nail art inspired by a cake by Miso Bakes

Hey babes! Are you up for something tasty? I came across this super cute cake somewhere on the internet, I really don't remember where. I also have no clue how I was able to find the original artist of this cake, but I did! It's Miso Bakes and oh. My. Goodness... Their cakes are absolutely gorgeous, their pictures are clean and amazing and I wish I could visit and taste some of their creations. Incredible! This particular cake spoke to me and it inspired me to make my own button nail art. Click to see more!

As you can see, I took some liberty in recreating the cake. They are tiny nails, after all, and I was using polish for making the buttons. Because YESSS all of this glows in the dark! I used Parrot Polish Glow Hot Lips, Glow Mr. Yuk, Glow Blaze & Linckia and Serum No. 5 Lights Out & Awesome Blossom for the buttons. The outlines and accents are done with acrylic paint. I applied the polish using my Edinburgh Realism brush from Fab Ur Nails and everything else was painted using my Basic One Gold detail brush from Christrio Scotland. If you want to know more about these brushes, be sure to look at my article about nail art brushes from my Behind The Nail Art series!

I'm not very happy about the way the text looks... I'm finding it hard to accurately place text on my nails so I'll be practicing that more!
Ahhh it's sooo pretty in the dark! I just love how everything glows in a different color. You can hardly see the Serum No. 5 polishes glow, but that's because the Parrot Polishes I used are jellies and I painted on top of a white polish. Translucent glow polishes on a white background means that the glow gets super strong!

I have a giveaway going on RIGHT NOW and you could win four polishes of choice from Parrot Polish! These can be any four polishes in the shop, including the glow ones. It's international ofcourse, and it ends on December 15th so enter the giveaway here!
Aaaaand a video tutorial to boot :D Here's how you do it: apply your white base color and let it dry. Paint some basic button shapes like circles and hearts using your chosen polishes.

When those are dry, take some acrylic paint and outline the buttons. For some buttons, paint the outline a bit further from the edge. It's a good button-look. Paint the holes of the buttons by putting dots, and connect the dots with a light color to make the sewing thread.

Finally, add the letters in thick lines, and add a thinner line in the middle for a cool effect. I only painted the 'Cute' for the tutorial. Top coat and you're done!

I received Parrot Polish Glow Hot Lips, Glow Mr. Yuk & Glow Blaze and Serum No. 5 Lights Out as a press sample for an honest review or to make nail art with. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
