Sugared candy canes nail art + video tutorial

Hey there! I made this design using striping tape, I thought it would look like candy canes but they actually remind me more of those peppermint cushion candies, do you know them? Anyways, these glow in the dark, so I wouldn't eat them :-p I'll show you how I made it in a video tutorial! Click to see more!

I didn't forget to take pictures without the sugar! The white stripes are Serum No. 5 Pure Glow Getter and the red is Parrot Polish Santa Glow.
I protected my design by topping it with HK Girl top coat that I get from Hypnotic Polish, before dipping my wet nails into regular sugar that I swiped from the kitchen!
Both Pure Glow Getter and Santa Glow are glow in the dark polishes, my favorite kind!!
Me wouldn't be me if I didn't try to do something nuts and unusual with a simple design... like dipping it in sugar! I did this once before, for my sugar crush nails, but I was really curious how it would look over a pattern. And it rocks!!!
And ofcourse I also had to know how the glow in the dark polish would look underneath the sugar! I'm such a curious little bunny :-p
Apply your base color and let it dry thoroughly. If it's a glow in the dark polish and it dries to a bumpy finish, add a top coat to make a smooth surface to place your striping tape on top of.

Cut off as many pieces of striping tape as you'll need, place the strips on the nail in the desired position one by one, and press them down. Make sure there are no air bubbles underneath.

Paint a smooth coat of polish over the striping tape, and while the polish is still wet, remove the tape in an easy motion. Let it dry for a bit, then top coat and you're done!

....unless you're crazy like me, and you want to add some pizzazz to your design. I dipped my nails into some sugar while the top coat was still wet.

I received Parrot Polish Santa Glow as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
