E.T. phone home nail art with fiber optics!!

You HAVE to see this video! After my initial test design with fiber optics, the alien attack nail art, I started thinking of other ideas to use those wires with. At one point, I was in the car and it just HIT ME! E.T.'s finger when he phones home! Click to see more!

For the background gradient, I used Gothic Gala Lacquers Dannie Diesel, SuperChic Lacquer Splice and Picture Polish Sorbet.

Making a gradient is not so hard, anyone can do it! Instead of taking up a whole minute of the tutorial, I made the ultimate guide to making your own smooth gradient with all the tips & tricks you need!

E.T. and his little arm are hand painted with acrylic paint. The fiber optic wire I used is from an old UFO lamp and his finger lights up orange because I used a drop of OPI Chromatic Orange from the Color Paints.
You can see the wire coming from my nail, in the other pics I guided it back past my finger and it wasn't visible. I had to be very very careful while working on this, because the wire was the first thing to be added and it was very fragile at the edge of the nail. I had to redo the whole ring finger, gradient and all, because the wire snapped and I hadn't even finished painting his hand yet!

Music is the theme from E.T.

I received Gothic Gala Lacquers Dannie Diesel & SuperChic Lacquer Splice as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
