Holo stars nail art

In case nobody has told you yet today: you're a STAR!!! Shine on, babe!

This is really super rainbow-y in real life. It's amazing! I like the contrast with the dusty dark shade that is Artistic Nail Design Grease Monkey, it makes the holo stand out. And Radiate My Love brings up the happiness a bit and frames the stars so nicely :)
But what I LOVE the most are these holo flakies from What's Up Nails! Although... I might accidentally sneezed while the open pot was in front of me.... and now everything is sparkly XD The couch. The kitchen faucet. My face. EVERYTHING. They clung to my phone so that's extra sparkly now too!

I received Artistic Nail Design Grease Monkey & Radiate My Love as well as What's Up Nails Holo flakies as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Holo smiley nail art

SMILE! This day only comes around once! So does tomorrow. And the day after that. Aaaand the day after that!

The deep dark base is Artistic Nail Design Heart Braker, that I reviewed here. It might look like black at first glance, but I promise it's not!

The happy smiley faces are made with Sapphire & Flower Confetti from What's Up Nails, soooo funky! I painted the faces on the glitters with acrylic paint.

Negative space airplane nail art

This design.... did not turn out like I'd hoped. But I decided to share it anyways in the hopes that maybe it will inspire someone to improve upon it! And the video tutorial turned out better, somehow more balanced, so that redeems it a little bit :-p

The base polish is and will forever be gorgeous, it's SuperChic Lacquer Dopamine. I made the negative space effect with a new liquid latex brand I'm trying out, called Edge Perfection. So far I can tell you that it feels sturdier somehow, even a thin coat doesn't snap/break during removal, and it's lightly scented but not overwhelmingly so :)

The clouds & airplane are made with acrylic paint because... what else? ;-)

I think the heat is throwing me off my nail art game! Holding the brush just gets harder as the temperature rises :-p Maybe I should do some art that somehow uses the heat to my advantage!

Holo diamond dress nail art

Isn't her dress looking faaaaabulous? I would love to have one of those! And her muscular shoulders too XD

The gorgeous blue base is a mattified Picture Polish beauty called Blue (how fitting!) that I got from Color4Nails, I used the OPI matte top coat over it. The lady was painted with acrylic paint!

Aaaaand now for the kicker, the dress... ahhh that dress! I just applied some SuperChic Lacquer Marvel Liquid Macro top coat and POOF dipped my wet nail into the Galaxy Holo Pigment from Nailland Hungary! Instant sparkles!! Until May 31st, feel free to use the code NLPL10 for 10% off your order (not an affiliate code) to celebrate my 5th blogiversary!!

Btw she did have a face.... I painted it after applying top coat, was actually kind of okay with how it turned out, then forgot to top coat again and went to wash my hands vigorously to get the holo dust off.... Bye bye face XD I actually saw it wash away under the tap water and cursed myself for it!!

SuperChic Lacquer Cupid's Bow collection swatches & review

Happy day to you, my dear readers! I'm showing you the Cupid's Bow collection from SuperChic Lacquer today, a wonderfully bright collection that was released for Valentine's day but also fits the springtime really well!

All of these polishes contain holographic pigment, making them flare up in rainbow colors in bright, direct lighting. I feel like there's also some magic mixed in though because I've noticed that unlike regular holos, you only need a little bit of light to see a rainbow appear. I don't know exactly what it is but I love it!

I'm showing them all with a single coat of top coat, and photographed in direct, artificial light. Usually I take my pictures in daylight, but the artificial light makes the holo stand out a lot more and to be honest, daylight here SUCKS during winter. I'm trying something new with my pictures and hand pose too, mixing it up a bit! I hope you like it! Now let's dive in!

Holo rainbow unicorn nail art

It's a rainbow on top of a rainbow, on top of another rainbow! It's.... rainbowception!

I had my fingers itching to use all of the polishes from the Parrot Polish Welcome To The Jungle collection at the same time. They are SO bright and something in me was just screeeeaming to use them! So I made a rainbow gradient with all of them.

I added TwinkledT Holo Hoop holographic powder on top to make it extra trippy. Then I felt bad about how the powder dulled the color of the neons a bit, so I painted this funky little unicorn and added rainbow accents with the whole collection!

I received the Parrot Polish Welcome to the Jungle collection and TwinkledT Holo Hoop as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Realistic spider nail art for Halloween

Thin, crawly legs sticking out to all sides. Eight eyes staring at you, watching your every move. How can anyone be afraid of spiders? :-p

The gorgeous background polish is Holographic Kiss by Masura. I received this, plus nine others, as press samples to share with you. Holographic Kiss is one of my favorites and immediately caught my eye. So pretty and feminine!

The spider is painted with new black & white acrylic paint that I bought two weeks ago from NailProduct.nl. They are AMAZING, very smooth and they make painting tiny lines so much easier! The black is really watery (actually exactly like water, but annoyingly opaque) and it smears with my top coat, but I think I bought the wrong bottle. It's hard to tell from a website. I'll place another order and let you know!
I've wanted to paint a spider with its legs spreading out to other nails since... I don't know when. I didn't 'see' the design in my head yet though, and I need to visualize it in order to paint it. This wasn't so much planned as it just suddenly took shape, and quite well might I add!

I received Masura Holographic Kiss as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Coffee forever nail art

Even if the weather gets cooler, coffee will keep us warm! Coffee is always there for us, to comfort us, keep us awake, get us through the rough times. Who needs a boyfriend when you can have coffee XD

The background gradient is made with SuperChic Lacquer Rum-Billie & Awesome Sauce (the name really does it justice!) and they're awesome for gradients because they're really opaque, so I was done in a jiffy.

I painted the design with acrylic paint and two new brushes: the Minty 0 and the Peachy 000 (that means tiny tiny tiny) from Mitty. The Peachy is great to work with but the tip is a little more prone to bending than the other brushes, probably because of the miniscule size. It worked fine for the ridiculously small text though!

I received SuperChic Lacquer Rum-Billie & Awesome Sauce as well as the Mitty brushes as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

High voltage power lines nail art

You might have noticed a trend in the last few nail art designs I've posted. They all have to do with electricity and power, I thought it suited the High Voltage collection from SuperChic Lacquer pretty well, don't you? So today I have some power lines for you, but watch out, don't touch, because they'll give you one hell of a shock! Click to see more!

SuperChic Lacquer Electrified is the perfect flashy yellow for a warning sign but I just want to gawk at it and wiggle my nails in the sun. Ofcourse I have a video tutorial too, so click to see more!

Holo waves nail art

Hi girls! I've been really getting back into the 'better' nail art lately. I didn't do my nails often when I was sick, and when I did, it was mostly a coat of color and some glitter, that was all I could manage. I've been wanting to get into posting regularly, although the warm weather is keeping me outside and away from my computer. My nail art is getting so much better! That's a great motivator for me.

Sunny summer weather calls for holos, so I went all out and used three of them. Here you have Glitter Gal Marine Blue, Lilypad Lacquer Zombee and A England St George.

Don't you just love how super crisp those lines are? I must say I'm really impressed with this nail art! It's a new technique I've been practicing with, I learned it from an amazing nail artist on Instagram.
Here's a sun pic, but I don't like the look of this photo as much as the one I took in the light box. I did want to show you the beautiful reflection of the light, I SWEAR I don't ever photoshop my images! This is all real, baby! I like the look of real, actual fingers, not the ones that are photoshopped so they look like creepy mannequin fingers.

Lilypad Lacquer Zombee is a good dupe for Different Dimension Totally by the way, swatches HERE. The only difference is that Zombee is a linear holo (which I prefer) and Totally is a scattered holo (still very nice though!).

Fimo flowers on holo background

Hiya girls! Today I have some nail art for you, but it's from a while back (see, my nails are shorter).

The flowers are fimo slices, I love these so much! They can make your mani chique or playful in a jiffy without too much effort. Just stick them on and topcoat the hell out of 'em.

These slices are a little bit on the thick side, I hadn't quite figured out how to slice them just right.

The holo background really gives this mani a kick! Too bad I don't have pictures in the sunlight, you can blame the long winter.

Mah Girly Bits haz arrived! Part 1

Hello my sweeties, and welcome to the first part of my Girly Bits swatches! I've been eyeballing some of these polishes for what seems like forever, and now it was my opinion that I deserved a little shopping spree. Well... big shopping spree. There have been so many deliveries at my door that the mailman said "See you tomorrow!" because he was at my door every day!

There was a very cool sale that I just couldn't pass up. It was a Scratch&Dent sale, so the polishes may have been used for swatching, or the label might have been a bit crooked... I don't see it, they look perfect to me! I turned into one of those polish snatching hawks and kept refreshing until the sale was live LOL, I quickly grabbed Hot Shot, Hocus Pocus and Denim Diva and checked out.

Holographic nail art

Because of the lovely weather we've been having here in the Netherlands, I was in the mood for a polish that was super beautiful in the sunlight. And what polishes light up more in the sun than holographics? I made a base of China Glaze DV8 and made a broad stripe over the nail diagonally with Koh Platinum Silver. Oh I love those polishes so much <3

I lined the silver holo with some regular white polish. As you can see it's beautiful in the sunlight! It chipped very soon, though. And I couldn't use a top coat because it makes the Koh polish look foggy and less pretty. But it was a great manicure for about two days!
