Twin nails inspired by Tang Yau Hoong

Hey ladies! Talent is all over the world, just like inspiration. I did twin nails with my friend Paulie again (he's @laynopaul on Instagram) and we chose this image by Tang Yau Hoong for our inspiration. Click to see what we made!

I took this pic in my light box because AAHH the reflections everywhere! They made it hard to see the artwork. I painted everything by hand using my Pure Color Glamour #1 detail brush and black & cream colored acrylic paint, as well as some orange that I mixed up for the whatchamacallit behind the planet. The planet and the shine behind it were 'enhanced' using the one stroke technique (come see my one stroke basics tutorial!). Don't you love how the word 'enhanced' makes it sound all fancy 'n stuff?

And I had the hiccups while I was painting this! For the third time in a day!!
Ahhh and here we are. Both our artwork! I think Paulie did an AWESOME job! He's clearly very talented and I love having the opportunity to do twin nails with him.

We chose this image as our inspiration because we both felt like it had some deeper meaning to it, how the birds fly up and into space. It also kinda reminds me of 'Loom' by LucasArts... Did anybody use to play that game? With the swans that went through the tear in the fabric of the universe? No? Hmm... Well it was awesome!

Anyways, I hope you like this! Feel free to tell me what you think and ofcourse share!
