Serum No. 5 Empowered collection swatches & review

Holy maglowy! I have a review for you! I'm showing you the Empowered collection by Serum No. 5 which is all about empowering women to be brave, live their dreams and make their own path. Because who run this motha? GIRLS!

Besides putting out a powerful message, all of the polishes in this collection subtly change color with temperature (thermal) and they glow in the dark. There's also a healthy amount of sparkle, shine and gorgeous shades. I have included a video at the end, to show off the color change even more! So let's just dive right in!

Yes, She Can! And oh boy, can she! She's a sweetie, but with a kick, like sour candy. I'm thinking raspberry... do you get the same vibe?
She's a little bit on the thicker side, make sure to apply thin coats and don't go over the same place twice while applying. It's actually pretty great coverage so 2 - 3 coats will be enough.

This is the one polish in the quartet that stayed in gradient form during regular wear. Even when I had warm hands, the tips retained the darker pink shade, while the top part of my nail kept its lighter, warm form.

Whoa, that glow!!! It's not as bright as some of the other polishes in this collection, but it seems to slightly change color along with the thermal pigment!! That is... magnificent <3

Shattered Glass Ceilings, the name matches the polish so well!! It really does remind me of broken glass, just not as uncomfortably sharp. It has a subtle gleam of holo pigment that is best viewed in full sun. It was really easy to apply, dried swiftly and I used 3 coats to be sure of an even coverage. It's a really smooth polish with minimal texture from the glow pigment, so one coat of top coat sufficed.

There are also flakies that flash blue, green and maybe a little bit of pale copper and purple. They remind me of sea glass!

Pantsuit Nation is slightly textured like Yes, She Can and it reminds me a little bit of breakfast cereal! You know, the milk mixing up with the sugary goodness? Maybe not the best analogy but I like cereal so there. There are copper & gold microglitters in the mix which just add to this effect.

The color looks different in various lighting conditions, apart from the thermal effect. Sometimes I think it's more of a dusty pastel yellow, while at other times it seems like a really light minty shade. It becomes darker and more green pronounced when it becomes cold. I wasn't too sure about this color at first, but I have to admit it's growing on me ;-)

It's definitely the brightest glowing polish of the four! Amazing! My camera had a hard time focusing because of the brightness! I take all of my glow photos on the exact same camera settings, so you can compare pictures and see which polish glows brighter.

My faaaaavorite of the four: Nevertheless, She Persisted! Not only is the name kick-ass (pardon my French), but it's also just a really dreamy and gorgeous polish. For one, it's super comfy to apply. I used thin coats, easy peasy, and they dried fast. I used 2 coats of top coat and that really brought out the shimmer & sparkle! There's a good amount of holographic pigment in there, as well as some duochrome shimmering bits that add amazing depth.

And it glows freaking ORANGE! How cool is that??

So there ya have it, folks! Four different, but equally awesome, polishes. I've told you my favorite, which one is yours?

If you're already itching to get your hands on these, they will become available on the Serum No. 5 website in just a few hours (there's a super convenient timer!) and retail for $14 each. You can also follow Serum No. 5 on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to stay up to date on new releases and other fun stuff!

Thanks so much for reading and please enjoy the video below!!!!

I received all of the polishes in this article as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
