Using paper to make stripes

Some of us aren't that good at using stripers... I wanted to find out if the same effect could be achieved by using paper, and good news: it's possible! You'll want to find out what works best for you.

The paper makes straight, clean stripes without having to use a striper. You can just pick a few sheets of paper in any color, cut some really thin lines and apply them to your nails using a base coat. Sort of like striping tape, but different.

I used one of the fimo canes I got from Mini Mil's
Some experimenting with types of paper is advised, because some types become translucent when they're wet and the polish beneath it will change the color.
I'm really sorry about the terrible air bubbles in the black. It looks horrible! I'm trying to figure the bubbles-in-the-polish thing out. It seems to occur with a only a few polishes in my stash, but not every time I use them.

For comparison, I did the other hand with a striper. There's no picture included here because it was just not as good as with the paper.

  1. If you roll the nail polish bottle between your palms instead of shaking it there will be a lot less bubbles.
