Fluffy owl nail art

D'awwww how adorable! Over the years, I've had a couple of requests/suggestions to paint an owl, yet I never did. Until now!

I started with the base, I used Models Own Persian Pink and added What's Up Nails Mystery Flakies over it, for the special effect. Then, I stalled... I wasn't sure what to add on top of this very special base!

The idea of painting an owl just clicked. I used acrylic paint and my Gamax 00 Kolinsky brush, and my dad said he'd like it as a pet :-p

I received What's Up Nails Mystery Flakies as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Freehand purple snake skin nail art

No real snakes were harmed during the making of this mani! LOL Only drops of acrylic paint were (ab)used. I figured I hadn't done snake skin nail art in a while and it's something fun and easy to make, so there's a video tutorial for you to discover and enjoy! Click to see more!

Daphine Polish Grape Is Favorite, revisited

I know what you're thinking... another blog post about polish, haha! Yup, but this here's something special. Daphine Polish was one of my first reviews on this blog, and that makes these bottles very valuable to me. They are on display in a heart shaped polish rack right next to my door, so every time I walk out of the room, they are waving at me. It was about time that I revisited this beauty! Picture Polish Shy Violet for National Epilepsy Awareness Month

Hey all! I have a pretty pretty to share today, I bought it using my birthday money and I have some gorgeous pictures for you! Picture Polish Shy Violet is a somewhat newer shade, it was released about three months ago I think, and my favorite Dutch stockist Pretty Polish had it in stock super fast! So I spent my birthday gift cards on this pretty baby. I also bought Ocean and Peaches 'n Cream, I'll show you those another time.

Today, I want to spread awareness about epilepsy. It's National Epilepsy Awareness Month in the US, and one of my dear blogger friends Melanie has first hand experience with epilepsy and the damage it can cause to the human brain. She can tell you more about it on her blog, Melanie's Fancies.  Go visit, she's a sweetie!

For this special occasion, it's time for this shy lady to shine! She's SO gorgeous, she has the most beautiful purple shade that I just love, and there are holographic micro flakes in the mix. They catch the light beautifully and give the polish amazing depth.
Shy Violet is a jelly polish, it doesn't have great coverage so I used two coats of HerĂ´me Dakar as a base color. Then I applied two coats of Shy Violet, followed by my very favorite Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat (if I could, I would marry that top coat and have babies with it!).
Wow, I am just loving my pictures over here! Anyone else having some drooling issues? This new light box setup is helping me so much, I love it :D

As with any of the Picture Polish shades, you can't help but love this little lady. All of their polishes are smooth, super good quality, dry fast and they are absolutely gorgeous. I'm a fan!

Four shiny beauties from Daphine Polish (review)

Hello and welcome to my post of pure awesomeness! I've got four amazing Daphine polishes for you that I received for review. Daphine Polish is a pretty new indie brand based in Ridgewood, NY. For now, she only ships within the US but she's looking in to the possibility of selling internationally. I think that would be great!
Edit 8/24: Joanne is starting to ship internationally on a trial basis! Be sure to read her shop policy first and have fun shopping!

Joanne was so kind to ask me what kind of polishes I prefer, so she could send me something I'd like. After all, a happy reviewer is a good reviewer. And goshdarnit, I'm happy as a clam! Okay, so let's just dive in!

Showcase - purple flower necklace

Hey pretty girls! Like you know, I'm really crafty. I like to make beautiful things with my hands. I don't do it as often now, but I make necklaces and bracelets and keychains for fun. Most of the jewelry in stores is too big and too obnoxious for me to wear, so I make my own! I like pastel colors and sweet, like I call it 'yummy', color combinations. I sort of feels like I can taste the colors and the shininess in my mouth. Weird, huh? Must be another weird autism-related senses thing. Like shutting my eyes at a loud sound.

Aaaaanyway, I thought it would be loads of fun to showcase one of my pieces here! I want to make these posts a regular thing on my blog, so you'll see lots of prettiness :D I don't use these anymore since I have my rat necklace, so they're up for grabs if you want one!

Today, I'm showing you a necklace I made a while ago. I was afraid at first that I would be too tiny for a flower like that, but it turned out pretty okay! There were holes in the middle so I glued a gem to the heart of the flower. I love the way it reflects the light, it looks different every time you turn it.

Look at the way the ribbons hang off of the flower, I love it! It's so... hmm leave it to me to stop finding words NOW. Usually I'm such a chatty person. It comes with a gift wrapping that corresponds with the color of the necklace.

Do you like it? I'm so happy with the photo's, they turned out really great thanks to my lightbox.
