Rainbow uni-cone nail art
It's a rainbow uni-cone! Anything with a single horn can be a magical unicorn, right?
I used Blushing Akito, April Moon, Seafoam Daisy, Forget-Me-Not, Ocean Song from the Rainbow Flowers Bath collection by MooMoo's Signatures for the base gradient. It's so sweet and smooth!!
I painted the ice cream with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines brush set from Winstonia, but the scoop was harder to paint than I had anticipated. I wanted the colors to blend into eachother smoothly, and that took a couple of coats & tries. Worked out in the end though!
I received the Rainbow Flowers Bath collection from MooMoo's Signatures as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Holo rainbow unicorn nail art
It's a rainbow on top of a rainbow, on top of another rainbow! It's.... rainbowception!
I had my fingers itching to use all of the polishes from the Parrot Polish Welcome To The Jungle collection at the same time. They are SO bright and something in me was just screeeeaming to use them! So I made a rainbow gradient with all of them.
I added TwinkledT Holo Hoop holographic powder on top to make it extra trippy. Then I felt bad about how the powder dulled the color of the neons a bit, so I painted this funky little unicorn and added rainbow accents with the whole collection!

Cat-astrophic glitter rainbow nail art
It's a cat-astrophe! The start of the apo-cat-lypse! A cat and a mouse in love, who'd have thunk it? These two are hand painted, and so adorable. I have a video tutorial to show you how to do this design, especially the rainbow glitter background! Click to see more!

Glitter tornado nail art with OPI Color Paints
Glittahhh!!! I recently bought a mini set of the new OPI color paints and I'm totally in love with them :D The colors are vivid, they blend well and they are not at all goopy like the sheer tints (which I still love too). Ofcourse I had to try out some nail art with them over glitter! Click to see more!

Rainbow nails
There have been some bad news and big changes in my life. It's been hard to keep up with my blog, but I've got something pretty for you! I made these rainbow nails a couple of weeks ago but never got around to sharing them with you. I got this design from Poka Pika Nails.
My nails make me happy in these dreary winter days. It gets dark so early now :-( But hey, happy nails!

Rainbow cake!
Look how pretty!
It's my rainbow cake! I made it for my boyfriend's birthday (lucky guy, isn't he?). His parents were hosting a barbecue this weekend and all of his family was there. He mentioned something a looong while ago about a rainbow cake and how cool he thought that was.
It took a crap load of effort so I won't be doing this again soon! I had to bake each layer separately, that alone took hours. I put them all on top of eachother without icing, because he doesn't like that (and neither do I). I melted some chocolate and covered the cake with it.
Apparently it tasted good because even though we cut tiny little pieces for everyone, there was just a tiny quarter left when we went home.
And it's the Loch Ness monster on top of the cake! This idea is actually from a friend who made Nessie on top of a cupcake once. I liked it so much that I replicated it, but bigger. Hers was better, though.

Rainbow skittle manicure
This mani is in honor of nanna's everywhere! One of my blogger friends from Painting Rainbows did a rainbow skittle mani last week in honor of her grandma. See her blog post HERE. I thought this was a fabulous idea and it looked great too, so I told her I would do one too and here it is!
I was really impressed by the way she mixed polishes to make some in-between colors. I tried to do that between my red and orange nails and I started out with the orange as a base but before I knew it, I had added too much red and it was not very much in-between anymore, it was basically just red.
This mani was also a really easy was to compare polishes in applicability (is that a word?), opacity and the inclination to make bubbles. I've found that my red, light green and darker blue are the best ones, all from Gosh. I also have an H&M mini and a Herôme polish that work great so I think these are the brands I'll be looking out for.
And uhm... I couldn't help myself:

My first laser manicure!
I saw some awesome pictures over the past few months of ladies who tried their hand at a laser manicure. Now the time had come for me to try it! I thought I'd give it my own twist and I made a multicolored pattern underneath. The left hand had big spots, the right hand had little ones.
And see? The top coat smoothed the texture out. It looked great and kinda retro and I kept it on all week (i.e. 4 more days until I had to take it off because of the weekend with my boyfriend).

Right hand |
I have no striping tape. I've never even seen it in stores. I had to use scotch tape that I cut with scissors. I'm also a little bit stubborn and I like to do things my own way. I have had bad experiences with tape manicures, so I tried sponging the top layer. And it worked great! It just gives a sort of texture but that's easily cured by a top coat.
Then I added a top coat and took some more pictures!
