Showbiz bee nail art

There ain't no bee-znis like showbee-znis! This bee is just such a sucker for attention :-p

The shape of these Twinkled T Holo at Me hex glitters reminds me of a honeycomb pattern, so naturally I *had* to try it! I've done bees a couple of times before though so this had to be something unusual, something funky. Mission: achieved!

I placed the Twinkled T glitters on a wet gel top coat using my Winstonia Fine Lines brush and after curing, I added the orange lines. This makes it look like the honeycombs are 3D ;-)
The bee is completely freehand. Yup, surprised me a little bit too. I really thought this while design was going to look like crap but I have to say I kinda like it!

Diamonds in the rough nail art

I... really don't know where I was going with this design, other than the technique I wanted to try for the base. And it worked! It reminds me of a shirt I had when I was a teen.

I started with a white base of Glisten & Glow Wedding Gown White and made the background pattern by applying striping tape from Winstonia Store. I applied some drops of Serum No. 5 nail polish to TwinkledT's XL Clear Stamper, and smooshed it on top of the tape! Removed the tape, et voilá ;-)

From there, I kind of got stuck on how to continue... Eventually I went for something minimal that wouldn't cover up the background. I also added some drops of clear 3D gel just for kicks!
The Serum No. 5 polishes I used are Atomic Peach, Yes She Can (from the new Empowered collection), Raspberry Delight, Awesome Blossom and Wisteriaously Bright. They all glow in the dark too! Ahhhh!!!

Polka dot candy nail art

It's my mom's birthday today! ...which has nothing to do with this nail art really, but I just thought I'd mention it :-p Yay!

I feel like I've seen this design somewhere... but I'm not sure. Things like images stick to the inside of my head like it's flypaper, and it's hard to tell what my own ideas are and what I've seen somewhere.
I made french tips with four different colors: Picture Polish Watermelon, Gelato, Sorbet & Tingle. They work out perfectly together! I added the polka dots & candy with acrylic paint and my Winstonia Fine Lines brush.

Popcorn nail art

I wanted to tell you a popcorn joke.... but I figured it was too corny :-p

I started with a beautiful red holo base called Cherub by SuperChic Lacquer. I painted the pattern with acrylic paint and my Berry Wine brushes from Winstonia, they are perfect for fine lines like this!

And here comes the thing that adds the 'POP': I made actual popcorn kernels using Madam Glam 3D gel. I used the white one called 'Sugar' and I LOVE this stuff! I also get to share a discount code for 30% with you, just add NAR30 at checkout :) (not an affiliate code)

I added some color with acrylic paint, and now it actually resembles popcorn :D

Golden Gate Bridge nail art

Happy Saturday my peeps and welcome to this miniature version of the Golden Gate Bridge! I know it may be cliché to pair a gold polish with the 'GOLDEN' Gate Bridge but it felt right!

Because... *drumroll*... the golden glitter is Stardust from Madam Glam. It's awesome and I'm really digging these gel polishes! The Madam Glams are super easy to use and hello, no dry time!

I keep forgetting to share my discount code with you, so here it is: please feel free to use the code NAR30 for 30% off your Madam Glam order! This is not an affiliate code and I get nothing when you use it. You just get a nice discount :)

The middle two nails were hand painted with acrylic paint, and I used my Fine Lines brushes from Winstonia and my Roubloff 00 detail brush from Adnails Manucure.

Into another dimension nail art

Come away with me into another dimension! The curtain is pulled back and it reveals an exotic land of sparkles and color shifts!

The beautiful blue base is Parrot Polish Baboon Blue, that I reviewed last week.

I used Exotic Flakies from What's Up Nails to make the shifty sky in the other dimension, and painted the details with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines & Berry Wine brushes from Winstonia.

And the folds & ripples in the 'fabric'.... that's best explained in a video that will be posted on my Instagram tomorrow! Sorry for the wait :-p

Some bunny loves you nail art for Valentine's Day

Somebunny loves you! And gosh darnit isn't she adorable? I'd hug her :D

My base is Artistic Nail Design Acid Washed Angel and I made a gradient with it and Glammed Up Grunge on the middle & ring finger nails. I love how well they go together! They make the perfect base for the little bunny, that I painted with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines & Berry Wine brush sets from Winstonia. They are my FAVORITE brushes and together, they can paint just about anything <3

I thought I'd try something new for the outer two nails! They are inspired by a technique I learned at the Magnetic Nail Design shop & teaching center in Kaatsheuvel. I changed it up to suit the design better, so I used Blossom flakies from What's Up Nails (isn't that color shift gorgeous??) and some glow in the dark pigment for the sugared borders because I don't have super fine glitter :-p Hey, whatever works!

I received Artistic Nail Design Acid Washed Angel & Glammed Up Grunge as a press sample, as well as the brush sets from Winstonia and the Blossom flakies from What's Up Nails. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Pizza nail art for Valentine's Day

Oh gosh honey, you're so cheesy! You got a pizza my heart!

This grey base is Artistic Nail Design Under the Overalls, which is part of their Urban Distressed collection coming in Februari! I painted the text with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines brush set from Winstonia, and I had the BEST TIME painting that cheese font XD

As you might have guessed, I used fake nail tips for just this once! I used gel polish to make the crust & salami/sausage, and colored it in with acrylic paint. It's not meant for actual wear ofcourse, but I've wanted to make pizza pieces for soooooo long!!

I received all of the polishes in this article as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Sexy male torso nail art

Ahhh... somebody hand me a bucket to drool in!

The green base is Colors by Llarowe The New Nude, which is a Nailland Hungary exclusive and also the inspiration for the nail art!

I painted the sexy dude with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines brush set from Winstonia.

But wow... from up close, it kind of looks like a hack job. Like somebody let their chisel slip :-p

I received all of the polishes in this article as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Undercover snowman nail art

Nothing to see here. Move it along. Just an undercover snowman trying to not to stick out like a sore thumb!

I used Serum No. 5 Guiding Light as the base for all 4 nails, so yes, it glows in the dark!

I added a thin coat of Picture Polish Ocean to three of them (which makes Ocean look lighter than it is in the bottle), plus a matte top coat. And on those nails, I painted some stripes using SuperChic Lacquer On Point.  They kind of look like messy shoe laces to me!

I painted the undercover snowman with acrylic paint and my Fine Lines brush set from Winstonia. You can use my code PIGGIE for 10% off :)

Yaaasssss it glows! And you can see where I didn't paint very well XD I LOVE the glow polishes from Serum No. 5, love love love! There's just something about seeing your nails after lights out that hits a girl right in the feels!

Air dragon nail art

Woosh! Air dragon flying over your head! I hadn't done a dragon in sooooo long, but there's something between me and these magnificent creatures. No matter how fierce, or friendly, or evil they are, I feel compelled to paint them. So here's another one in my series of dragons!

The base for this design is Artistic Nail Design Denimist, a light blue pastel-ish polish with a slightly periwinkle hue to it.

I painted the whole design using acrylic paint the Fine Lines brush set from Winstonia. It 'only' took me 2,5 hours, and I would bet that this design just a year, two years ago, would have cost me 6  - 8 hours to paint. I loved painting her and I really want to do work like this more often!

Bluebells with ladybug nail art

Who is ready for spring yet? C'mon Mother Nature, hurry it up! Haha I am sooooo not a winter person :-p

The polish is THE SAME on all 4 nails, it's Masura Mehendi and it's so versatile! On the index and pinkie nail, I used a bar magnet to fancy it up a bit. It's a magnetic polish so the particles can be manipulated by hovering a magnet over the wet polish without touching it. The middle and ring finger nail are the same polish, just without the magnetic effect!

I painted the design with acrylic paint and my Winstonia Store Fine Lines brush set!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram for all of your burning questions, I'll be doing an Ask Me Anything there very soon!

2017 New Year's nail art

Clink! Happy almost-New Year! I've never been great at coming up with New Year's nail art designs, but this one feels so classy!

The base is Rimmel London Rock 'n Sparkle and I bought it for this great idea I had with a matte top coat and... it sucked XD And I started with a Christmas tree at first, but it just wasn't clicking with the gold pattern. Not classy enough. So I changed it to the champagne glasses instead!

The champagne gold pattern is painted with Artistic Nail Design But First, Champagne! which by the way, I reviewed here. I used the Winstonia #0 and #0000 brushes for the gold pattern, and the Fine Lines brush set for the more detailed accent nail. I LOVE the Fine Lines brushes!

I received But First, Champagne! and the Winstonia brushes as a press sample. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.

Wet winter nail art

The waterdrops are why I called it 'Wet winter'! Yeah you try and name all of your nail art, see how well it goes after almost 5 years XD Aaaanyways...

The base for this accent nail is No Taming My Twinkle by Artistic Nail Design, and I've reviewed it here. It makes the perfect sparkly background for a winter scene like this, like a starry sky! I painted the scenery with acrylic paint and the Berry Wine brush set from Winstonia. It's called the bloggers' favorite and now I know why, it's amazing! They have been kind enough to give me a discount code to share with you all, you can use PIGGIE at checkout for 10% :D This is not an affiliate code and I get nothing in return when you use it. It's just a discount ;-)
The silver is from this cool kit I've gotten the honor of trying. It's the Chrome Mirror Powder kit from EZ Dip Nails and it came with... hold your breath... a regular air drying top coat that is suitable for use with chrome pigment powders! (OK you can breathe now!) I'm really happy with this stuff because it makes all those gorgeous chrome nails possible without a UV lamp! It works as easy as applying the 'Top Pure' top coat, letting it dry, rubbing some powder on it until it's smooth and shiny, and then applying another coat of the Top Pure!

To clarify all of this, I'll record a tutorial and upload it to my Instagram and Facebook tomorrow so you can see how it works ;-)

'Tis the season nail art for Christmas

"Tis the season to be jolly!" thought the little snowman, as he planted a wide smile on his frozen face!

I've been editing a friend's book this week so I have storytelling on my mind. Let me tell you about the origin story of this nail art! First, there was a black coat of polish, and a pattern made with black one step gel polish. Then, a freaky lady who is too obsessed with her nails applied a magical powder called Silver Star by Mitty over it, It stuck and made a wonderous metallic relief!

Now dear readers, you might want to know that the blue glitter polish is Swan Lake by Masura and I have reviewed it here.

The little happy snowman came into creation with acrylic paint, a brush from the Winstonia Rose Noire brush set, and a whiff of magic!

Ice city nail art

Ice, ice, baby! Feel free to visit the city any time, but be careful not to fall on those spikes because ouchie!

I consider this kind of a fail, probably because the image I had in my head was way more sparkly, translucent and ethereal. But alas, I wasn't able to capture that! I do however like the icy spikes, they have depth and could either be crystal or ice.

I painted the design with acrylic paint and my new #000 detail brush from Winstonia.
The base I used is a polish called Sky Temple by Masura and it's a duochrome. It goes from electric blue to a blueish purple under the right angle, which is REALLY hard to capture on camera!
