Glow in the dark table lamp nail art

I know, it's not my usual creepy kind of glow in the dark nail art that you're used to... It's an adapted recreation of one of my own designs, the 'plugged in' 3D nail art that I did back in May. This time I used Serum No. 5 Sky Lights to light up the lamp with a pretty blue glow, and I have a video tutorial that will show you how to make this! Click to see more!

The 'plugged in' nail art design got a lot of great response but most people didn't like the 3D wire connecting my pinkie and my index finger. I happened to agree! It looked way too big, out of proportion, and it didn't really add anything to the design. I should have just painted it on instead. So voilá!

It also bothered me that the design was neither detailed, or pretty, so I decided to remedy that as well. I gave the lamp some context, added a floor so the electrical outlet didn't just hang in empty space, and I gave the lamp a nice little see-through lampshade. So fancy!
Can we just take a second to appreciate how this wood flooring came into existence? It went like this: I took a brush. I dipped it in some paint. I drew lines. Then suddenly it looked like wood!

I swear, half the time I don't know how anything ever appears on my nails. It's like magic. It was all painted with acrylic paint and my Roubloff 00 detail brush.
I would love a room with this color slathered all over the walls (which is why I chose it for my background). It's piCture pOlish Instinct and it's just the most perfect shade of happy happy blue!

This also clears up the confusion about Instinct being glow in the dark or UV reactive. As you can see, it does NOT glow in the dark (which is what I thought when this polish was first released). It IS however UV reactive, which means it lights up really brightly under a black light. If the light goes out however, the glow is gone, while the lampshade, which is actually glow in the dark, stays glowy. Does that make sense to anyone else but me?

I received Serum No. 5 Sky Lights as a press sample for an honest review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and not influenced in any way other than the quality of the product itself.
